Embryonal liver sarcoma

Arthur Oscar*

Angiosarcoma, leiomyosarcoma, and fibrosarcorna are malignant mesenchymal tumors of the liver that are extremely rare. Some sarcomas are difficult to classify because they show no signs of differentiation. Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma, malignant mesenchymoma, embryonal sarfibromyxosarcoma, and simply sarcoma are some of the words used to describe them. A review of the literature showed several cases of "undifferentiated sarcoma" of the liver, the majority of which were diagnosed as solitary. The clinical, roentgenologic, and pathologic features of 31 individuals with primary undifferentiated sarcoma of the liver were studied retrospectively. From 1955 to 1975, these cases were collected at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP). Clinical histories, radiograph and liver scan reports, surgical or autopsy protocols, and gross and microscopic liver sections were among the materials accessible for examination.
